Jonathan Orellana, 23, a recent parole was arrested Saturday afternoon after officers with the Drug and Organized Task Force received word that he was in possession of a weapon, said Stamford Capt. Richard Conklin.

With the information, officers were able to get a search warrant and located Orellana where he worked at a retail store on Summer Street, Conklin said.

Once in custody, officers found three knotted plastic bags of crack cocaine in his pocket along with $325 in cash. Officers then served another warrant on Orellana's home where they uncovered a black Ruger 9mm pistol loaded with seven rounds, he said.

The gun's serial numbers had been removed, but police technicians were able to raise the numbers and found that the gun was stolen in Savannah, Georgia in 2015, Conklin said.

Orellana was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, and inferring with a police officer for not cooperating with police.

His bond of $150,000 was revoked after his parole officer was notified of the new gun charge. Orellana was arrested by Stamford Police in 2014 in connection with a shooting incident.
